Javascript / Front-end Engineer

Scoopler is looking for a talented JavaScript / Front-end Engineer to work on our Live UI

Scoopler is a San Francisco based company, leading the real-time search revolution.  We are looking for a talented JavaScript Engineer to help implement and maintain the primary user interface of Scoopler.

Scoopler is a Y-Combinator backed company, whose investors include Ron Conway, Michael Birch and Avalon Ventures.  Our mission is to organize all the live content on the web and make it searchable in real-time.  Since launching in May 2009, we have been consistently named as one of the top 3 real-time search engines and we're passionate about pushing innovation in this exciting new field.

What we're looking for:

As a site that heavily depend on AJAX for content delivery, writing clean and efficient client side code is an imperative for us. You will be part of the core team responsible for maintaining, evolving and innovating the Scoopler UI.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Scoopler UI.
• Re-factor existing JS code to improve performance, clarity, and extensibility.
• work with product manager to assess feasibility and priority of new features.
• Write and maintain tests for user interface.

Qualifications:

• Object-oriented JavaScript experience.
• A keen design sense.
• Expertise in advanced AJAX techniques.
• Extensive knowledge of CSS/HTML, DOM structure and manipulation.
• Experience with at least one scripting language (i.e. Python/Ruby/PHP)
• Ability to solve challenging coding problems and enthusiasm for working in a dynamic startup environment.
